Educational research and teacher training.
Models, approaches and methodologies

Salerno, 26, 27 and 28 June 2024

The conference will address the current issues of educational research linked to the initial and in-service training of teachers from a systemic perspective and with the aim of initiating a reflection and discussion on the open questions and the consequent scientific and political strategies to be identified and pursued.

Universities have the delicate and essential role of promoting in teachers the development of knowledge, attitudes, teaching and evaluation approaches that are effective and usable for the continuous improvement of the quality of teaching and evaluation processes. The works, therefore, will be aimed at illustrating the current and potential relationship between educational research and its impact on the various areas of intervention, highlighting its strengths and weaknesses through study and research contributions.

The conference is aimed primarily at researchers in the pedagogical area and is open to the participation of teachers, educators and their associations.

It is planned to be divided into working groups in which studies and research relating to the following thematic sections will be presented and discussed:

  • Educational research and impact on learning
  • Teacher training and professional development
  • Inclusive evaluation processes, technologies and practices.

On the first day (from 3.00 pm), scholars of clear national and international fame will be invited to present a report on the themes of the event. The second day, organized in parallel sessions, will be dedicated to the presentation of studies and research contributions in the form of communications on the three thematic areas. On the third day, summaries of the reports presented will be proposed and a discussion will be launched to identify the main open questions and the strategic actions to be undertaken “to create an open school, capable of orienting, enhancing and developing the potential of the young generations”.

Only in-person participation is expected.

Deadlines:

  • Deadline for registering and sending the abstract: 7 June 2024 (short, max 200 words, bibliographical references excluded)
  • Communication of acceptance of the contribution: 12 June 2024
  • Deadline for registration and payment of the participation fee: 15 June 2024.

The evaluation process will be managed by the Scientific Committee which reserves the right to admit the contribution. A confirmation email will be sent to all authors by June 12, 2024.

The conference proceedings will be published by the end of September.

  • Essay submission deadline: 5 July 2024 (the proposal submission procedure is automatic and online and will be made available starting from 20 June 2024)

All authors of contributions must register and pay the registration fee. Each author will be able to present a maximum of 1 contribution as a first signature and a max of 1 contribution as a co-author (where an author presents two contributions, one as a first signature + one as a second signature, only one registration fee must be paid).

The evaluation process will be managed by the Scientific Committee which reserves the right to accept the contribution.

  • Relevance for educational research
  • Contribution to the research progress and originality
  • Accuracy and content organization
  • Clarity and coherence of methodological approaches
  • Accuracy of quotations and of bibliography
  • Respect for editorial rules and presentation format.
